Tuesdays 6-7PM starting September 17
This six week series will introduce you to the fundamentals of the beautiful dance of raqs sharki (“dance of the East”, or…belly dance). We will use current hit music from Egypt and Turkey and learn how to isolate, travel, and most importantly, express ourselves in this dance. This is an upbeat class that will make you sweat, but is appropriate for every age, ability and fitness level.
Wear your normal gym clothes that are a little form fitting so we can make sure you are using proper technique- however there’s no need to show your belly (unless you want to…this is a body positive class after all!). Most students feel comfortable in ballet slippers or half sole sandals.
Cost is $85 if paid online for the whole session, or $15 drop in. Minimum of 3 students registered is required for class to run. Classes are non-refundable.
